Certainly when the pack is on a hike in a
wilderness area, I enjoy the chase. I find those outings exciting.
But, it's nice to come home to a bowl of homemade gruel, have a
cookie for desert and then nap the rest of the day away on the bed. Ah...it's a good life... Anyway, coursing was always my favorite competitive event. It certainly wasn't obedience. Mom, you groused so much about my scores in the OB ring. My goodness, gracious...you'd think I'd gone into the OB ring refusing to take a step. I never did that...that was Vixen who acted out those stubborn performances. Geeez...I did what it took to get the title, didn't I? Especially since you never bothered to enroll either of us in an OB class. I didn't have any experienced competitors to provide examples for me. I did the best I could. Besides, heeling off lead just does not come naturally to a Ridgeback. Shucks, I doubt we even competed in a dozen trials before I finished that CD. I don't think that that's so bad. |
